Meteorologist Sarah Libby joined the Eyewitness News 5 weather team in May 2008. Sarah is a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the broadcast seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society.

After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in meteorology, Sarah began her broadcasting career in Lafayette La.

While in Lafayette, she covered numerous tropical systems including Tropical Storm Allison and Hurricane Lili. She was promoted to chief meteorologist and led her weather team through the busy 2004 hurricane season.

Sarah was awarded "Best Weathercast" by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters and was a board member for the Acadiana Chapter of the American Red Cross. From there, Sarah moved on to The Weather Channel.

While at The Weather Channel, she was fortunate enough to be a part of the national coverage of the unforgettable 2005 hurricane season. Sarah spent two years at The Weather Channel and was then given the opportunity to work in the broadcasting department at ImpactWeather. One of her main duties while at ImpactWeather was to provide video aviation weather briefings to clients of Universal Weather and Aviation.

Sarah also holds a degree in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Sarah is happy to call Oklahoma City her home, and she looks forward to helping the people of Oklahoma stay safe from the volatile weather they often deal with. Covering severe weather is her passion, and she is glad to have the opportunity to be a part of the KOCO weather team.
